Dr. Sagar Bhattad
Dr. Sagar Bhattad is India’s first DM super-specialist in Pediatric Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology, trained at PGIMER, Chandigarh. He received the Silver Medal in MD Pediatrics and the Major Gen Amir Chand Gold Medal for his research on complement deficiency in pediatric lupus.
A pioneer in Immunology-focused Bone Marrow Transplants (BMT) in India, he has played a key role in diagnosing and managing Primary Immune Deficiency Disorders (PIDs). He leads the Center of Excellence in Pediatric Immunology and BMT at Manipal Hospital Yelahanka, Bangalore, recognized by the Foundation for Primary Immunodeficiency (FPID), USA, and has conducted one of the highest numbers of immune deficiency transplants in India.
Dr. Bhattad trained at The Great North Children’s Hospital, UK, gaining insights into advanced BMT techniques, and follows one of South India’s largest pediatric Kawasaki disease cohorts. He has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and is a sought-after speaker at national and international forums.
In 2025, he received The Moopen’s Clinical Excellence Award, and he envisions building South India’s largest Immunology center, providing affordable care for children with immune deficiencies.
